Why not?

Everyone else has a blog, so why not me?

I figure I may as well start something new for 2011, so here it is.

We started the new year with a meager little party but had a good time. The food was good, as was the company, and the fireworks display at midnight was awesome.

  1. I am planning on relocating to Cebu in the next year and I will need as much information as you can provide.

  2. Hi David,

I saw the link to this blog off your signature on the LIP3 yahoo group.

I was checking out your story and pics when I saw the Boracay sand castle pic “2007-05-10 Day One Boracay 052″ and I thought, gee I have one that looks just like that! So I went into my archives and sure enough, mine is dated 2007-05-10! I was standing in that very spot that very same evening with my ex-fiance! I had a room at Fridays from the 9th to the 12th that weekend. I remember seeing other Kano’s while I was there, I bet I saw you and your asawa there that weekend if not that very night!

My story didn’t turn out as good as yours though. As it turned out, my ex-Fiance had failed to mention a few things over the course of our many months communications, like the fact that she was married! lol. Even though I had specifically asked, and she had said no, she had never been married. The Immigration interviewer at the embassy declined my petition for her when she went to the interview, apparently the local NSO keeps records of those kinds of things and they found her previous marriage record. Who knew! Just a small detail lol… Oh well, it was still a great weekend in Boracay! ;-)

I’m very happy for you and your family, your wife and daughter are beautiful, you all look so happy. I am also retired military, your living my dream! Congratulations! I wish you all fair winds and following seas!

    • Small world huh? We spent 4 months on Boracay (May through Sep). It was suppose to be 6 months but we found out that we had a baby on the way shortly after arrival and had to return to Cebu earlier than planned. I sure hated to leave and go back to the real world.

Sorry to hear about your experience; it happens here more than I like to think about. Although things are not always a bed of roses, nor did I expect it would be, I consider myself to be a very lucky man. I was introduced to Celyn by people that knew her and her family rather than just meeting her, and that may be the difference.

So have you tried again since?
